Atop the horrible NFC East, Redskins fans have to be happy with their team's place in the standings. But fantasy owners who spent an early-round draft pick on Alfred Morris have been disappointed with his inconsistent and declining production. Perhaps Morris has been more important to his real-life team. In four of the five Washington wins this season, Morris has carried the ball 15 or more times. In last week’s win against the Giants, Morris had 23 carries for 78 yards.
Though still only 26 years old, Morris has seen his rushing totals and averages decrease with each season. This year Morris is averaging a career low 3.6 yards per carry and is still without a TD. With rookie Matt Jones showing he can break big plays, Morris’s days as an early-round pick are surely behind him.
But for now he should offer some value as the Redskins look to establish the run in the coming weeks. Morris has good career numbers against the Cowboys and then plays a Bears defense that has let up a lot of rushing yards on the season. If Morris is available, pick him up and consider using him in a flex spot, a rushing TD should be coming soon.
