ANALYSIS: Las Vegas Raiders running back Alexander Mattison has outplayed lead back Zamir White, and head coach Antonio Pierce seemed to agree with this sentiment. Pierce stated that Mattison had earned more opportunities for work in the backfield in a recent news conference.

That's great news. There's terrible news, though, and that is that the Raiders will face the Denver Broncos in Week 5. Denver boasts one of the best defenses in the NFL, both against the run and the pass. The Raiders have one of the worst offenses. Generally, a bad offense against a great defense isn't a good matchup for the offense.

The Broncos just embarrassed Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets, so it's hard to see the black and silver crew having a big game against them. That includes Mattison. He's better off on the bench.
