ANALYSIS: Arizona Diamondbacks rookie Alex Young is coming off of the worst start of his young career, giving up a grand slam to Juan Lagares and six runs (one earned) in less than three innings in a loss to the New York Mets last Thursday. But prior to that speedbump, Young had quietly put together a strong string of starts, going 2-1 in his last three starts, with a 1.53 ERA in 17 2/3 innings.
Putting the loss aside, Young lines up for a stellar matchup at home in Week 25 as the Miami Marlins come swimming into town. having lost 15 of their last 20 games. The Marlins have really struggled against left-handed pitching on the road in 2019, posting a .653 OPS, .130 ISO, and 69 wRC+ that are all the worst marks in baseball. With few players in their lineup capable of doing damage, look for Young to continue his recent success.
