BALLER MOVE: Target in late rounds
CURRENT ADP: 253
ANALYSIS: In his age-40 season, after missing all of 2014 and playing in just 265 games over the three years prior, Alex Rodriguez produced an .842 OPS, 33 homers, and 169 R+RBI. No matter how you feel about him as a person or player, that's impressive. In the early going, however, owners don't seem optimistic that A-Rod can turn in a repeat performance. He's being drafted after Wilson Ramos and Brett Lawrie.
Rodriguez only made four appearances at third base last season and isn't likely to regain eligibility at any position other than DH, and it's tough to bet on a guy who made his debut when many current players were toddlers. But only 15 players deposited more baseballs into the stands than Rodriguez did last season and his peripherals weren't too far off from his career averages. Dude can still hit.
More than ever, baseball is a young man's game. But this old dog has a few tricks left, and is easily worth a gamble at his current price.
