ANALYSIS: I'm breaking the golden rule of the 50-percent-or-fewer rostership with this writeup, but you know when it's needed we just have to go for it. I woke up last Sunday to news coming from Seattle regarding Chris Carson: placed on Injured Reserve. Uh, oh, scored ourselves an easy WW target in backup-rusher Alex Collins! Now, that being said, I already told you about Collins more than a week ago when Carson already missed Week 5 with a neck issue, so there's the why for the already-high rostership in Yahoo.

Chris Carson already saw a downtick in playing time in the last two weeks he was active prior to Week 5 (from a 78% snap share in Week 2 to subpar 43% and 45% marks in Weeks 3 and 4). Collins, on the other hand, pretty much wrote the opposite script going from 39% in Week 4 to a season-high 71% with Carson already out in Week 5. And I mean, Collins has not been great on the year overall, but he's already had a game at Carson's production level when Collins put up 15.8 PPR points in Week 4, then scored 9.2 in Week 5.

Collins might not finish the year as a top-tier rusher, but for the next three weeks, he will be a bonafide RB1 (in role, at the very least) with Geno Smith playing QB for the Seahawks. With no Carson and no Russell Wilson around to eat from Collins' plate, the backup-until-now should be rostered in 100% of the leagues and considered a viable RB3/Flex play weekly for nearly a month before we see Carson return.
