BALLER MOVE: Start in 14+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR3/FLEX
ANALYSIS: Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce has vaulted himself onto the fantasy radar after an electric start to the season. The young pass-catcher has been depended upon to make big plays, and he's totaled 225 yards and two touchdowns so far.
He does face a tough matchup this week in the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have allowed the fewest catches (23) to opposing receivers this season.
There's more unfortunate news for Pierce in that his volume has been low this season, which means his fantasy production is largely dependent on big plays (touchdowns, in particular). Whether or not this type of playing style is sustainable remains to be seen, especially with Anthony Richardson under center.
However, we're inclined to give Pierce the benefit of the doubt so far given that he was the WR8 in Week 1 and the WR19 in Week 2.
Alec Pierce is only rostered in 35.1% of ESPN fantasy football leagues:

Pierce's playing time and volume did take another step back in Week 3 when Josh Downs returned from injury, but Pierce still played more snaps than Downs. We imagine that he'll remain the Colts' No. 2 wide receiver as long as he continues playing well.
Fantasy managers should view Pierce as a high-ceiling player with a relatively low floor. His fantasy value is dependent on big plays, not volume, which makes him a little more inconsistent from a fantasy perspective. However, if you can get top-20 receiver production from your WR3 or FLEX every couple of weeks, it's worth it.
Fire up Pierce as a WR3/FLEX in leagues with at least 14 teams this week.
