Albert Wilson - WR, K.C.
BALLER MOVE: Add only in deepest leagues for WR depth
OWNED IN: 4% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: Albert Wilson received increased playing time last week when top wideout Jeremy Maclin was a late scratch Sunday morning due to concussion symptoms. At 5'9", Wilson is more of a slot receiver. He should return to that role whenever Maclin returns to action.
Joel Thurman of arrowheadpride.com writes that Maclin, who passed the concussion protocol before Sunday's game and was still held out, is likely to make the trip to London for the Chiefs' meeting with Detroit. In any event, in the case of Wilson, a No. 3 receiver for a vanilla offense is seldom a recipe for fantasy production. Inactive for two games with a shoulder ailment and catchless in two others, Wilson's ceiling is low. After all, he's the fourth option and has Alex Smith throwing him the ball. Wilson did haul in three of six targets for 71 yards last week against Pittsburgh, but 40 yards came on a short screen catch-and-run.
Until Wilson has a statement game, fantasy managers looking for WR options should look elsewhere.
