BALLER MOVE: Sit in all leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: QB3
ANALYSIS: The matchup may appear green, but fantasy managers will want to stop before inserting Aidan O'Connell into any lineups, including 2QB and Superflex leagues.
The Los Angeles Chargers secondary allows the fourth-most passing yards (261.9) per game and remains one of the worst units against fantasy football quarterbacks. However, O'Connell hasn't reached that 262-yard mark more than one time (Week 11 versus Miami) and has stayed under 200 yards in two of his six starts. The fourth-round rookie also doesn't have a single game with multiple touchdowns.
Fresh off of a contest where O'Connell led Las Vegas to zero points, there were murmurs in Sin City of a change at the quarterback position. Whether that meant Jimmy Garoppolo or Brian Hoyer is unclear. O'Connell is still slated to start this Thursday night's AFC West matchup, but more struggles could force interim coach Antonio Pierce to call an audible at halftime.
The offense may also be without Josh Jacobs (quad) and Davante Adams is questionable with an illness. If one or both were to miss the game, it would decrease the little value O'Connell still had. One of the few quarterbacks O'Connell should be started over is the signal-caller on the opposite side of the field, Easton Stick, who will be without several top weapons of his own.
