ANALYSIS: Only 6% owned right now, Ottavino is someone to grab off the waiver wire if you're looking for saves. The Rockies former closer, 42-year-old Latroy Hawkins, looked awful in his three appearances, giving up seven hits and five runs in just 2.2 innings. Rockies fans were calling for his job, and today he was officially removed from the closer role. Adam Ottavino is most likely the next man up, although Rafael Betancourt could be in the mix as well.
Ottavino has been dominant in his four appearances, facing 15 batters and striking out seven of them. Thus far he has only allowed one hit, and has been overpowering hitters. It’s tough to pitch at Coors field, but the Rockies offense should give this team a good amount save opportunities. Grab Ottavino off the waiver wire if he's still available in your league.
