ANALYSIS: Good left handed pitching has become a priceless possession these days and Adam Conley wants to be another prize in Miami for years to come. Conley came into 2016 as a major sleeper with his high K rate potential with room to grow. Not only has he grown by leaps and bounds but he is garnering attention for his refinement of his game with every start.
Conley's 3.40 ERA and his 3.26 FIP are both down from 2015. His K/9 is at 9.14 which is the highest it has been since 2012 when the rise of his hype began. He did have some rocky years getting through the minors taking steep dips in production across the board. But now he is here to stay and proving it every time he toes the rubber.
Conley's K-BB% sits at 15.2% which is again the best it has been since 2012, complemented with his .238 BAA. The walks are up to 3.40/9 but he has been able to sustain his effectiveness by throwing all three of his pitches for strikes. The heralded fastball, slider, changeup combination has gotten him to where he is now. Some pitchers have to find a fourth pitch to keep hitters off balance but Conley has shown that his repertoire suits him just fine. If he is sitting on your waiver wire right now Conley can help out with W, K, QS and a solid SP3 to add to your roster for the long haul.
