The Green Bay Packers have been disappointing over the last month with two consecutive losses and overall lackluster fantasy football performances. No one expected to worry about inserting the top Green Bay weapons in lineups due to how effective the offense typically is. This is the week things will get back on track for the Packers in a cupcake matchup against the soft Detroit Lions defense. The Packers are in dire need of getting the offense back at an elite level and will show no mercy when exposing the Lions on Sunday. Detroit is giving up over 30 points per game and recently allowed a weak Jamaal Charles-less Kansas City offense to score 45 points in a single game.
Historically, Aaron Rodgers is great in any environment but he’s even better at home as the season goes on. The Packers quarterback is bound to have one of his best games of the year and his price is very moderate on most daily sites due to Green Bay’s recent lackluster play. There are many great values to be found in Green Bay this weekend.
Wide receivers Randall Cobb and James Jones are both great plays with tremendous value. This is the kind of game where Rodgers can open it up for 350 yards and four scores. That opens up plenty of opportunities for the Packers receiving weapons. Cobb has been struggling but delivered last week in a tough matchup against the Carolina Panthers with 99 yards and a touchdown. Cobb is still the team’s top receiver and his rise back to WR1 fantasy status should start on Sunday. With Detroit being prone to giving up the deep ball, Jones is another fantastic option considering how much Rodgers trusts him in the end zone. Davante Adams and tight end Richard Rodgers could also have big games, but Cobb and Jones are the safer bets.
The top story in Green Bay right now is James Starks overtaking Eddie Lacy as the starting running back. There’s no word on how the carries split will work but Starks has been more productive than Lacy and should be given the full starter’s workload. The Lions defense gives up 134 rushing yards per game and there will be opportunities for touchdowns. Starks could easily be one of the best running backs of the week. This game could be a blowout late and that can lead to plenty of Starks carries in the second half. Go all-in on the entire Packers offense this week.
