ANALYSIS: Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones has been a massive fantasy bust in 2023. The veteran running had been a plug-and-play RB1 or RB2 for the past few years. Unfortunately, he has struggled to stay healthy this season. Jones missed three games with a hamstring injury. More importantly, the running back suffered a knee injury Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Initially, many thought the veteran would be done for the year. Thankfully, Jones only has an MCL sprain. While he won’t play on Thanksgiving against the Detroit Lions, the former UTEP star should return at some point over the next few weeks.
Unfortunately, Jones wasn’t the only Green Bay running back to get hurt last week. Emanuel Wilson suffered a shoulder injury in the win. He was placed on injured reserve today and will miss at least the next four games.
Therefore, A.J. Dillon, Patrick Taylor, and the newly signed James Robinson will handle the backfield workload against the Lions. However, fantasy players should avoid starting any Packers running back, as Detroit has one of the top run defenses in the NFL.
