BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ team leagues
OWNED IN: 1% Fleaflicker
ANALYSIS: With a slash line of .186/.239/.256 in 43 AB to start off the first 14 games of the season, an ownership percentage of 1% shouldn't be too surprising for Aaron Hill. However, there are some subtle and encouraging indications for his level of play moving forward. First off, Hill has hit a HR and stolen two bases in two attempts so far in his 43 AB. Next, Hill has a BABIP of just .200. This is an incredibly unlucky figure when considering that Hill puts the ball in play 74% of the time (5% higher than the league average) and has a LD% of 36% (16% above the league average). This means that 74% of his AB result on the ball being in play, 36% result in a line drive, and in the instances where the ball is hit into play, Hill is getting a hit just 25% of the time! That is quite unlucky considering his career BABIP is .287. If Hill's BABIP works its way towards his career trend, his average and on-base percentage will obviously increase. This means he can possibly add value by grabbing stolen bases and hitting for a fraction of his former power.
