Fantasy Baseball Impact Of The Baltimore Orioles Activating Aaron Hicks Fro The 10-Day Injured Lis
The Baltimore Orioles reinstated Aaron Hicks from the 10-day injured list on Sunday morning, according to a tweet from the club's official Twitter account.
The American League East club tweeted the following:
As part of the announcement, which also saw the team announce that relief pitcher Jorge Lopez was activated, Baltimore also optioned fellow outfielder Colton Cowser to Triple-A. That should help Hicks see added playing time down the stretch.
The 33-year-old is batting .234 with a .326 on-base percentage and a 97 wRC+ in 239 plate appearances this season, while also adding seven home runs and three stolen bases. Hicks has split the year between the New York Yankees and the Orioles but has been decidedly more productive since joining Baltimore.
In 163 plate appearances for the Orioles, the veteran is hitting .257 with a .356 on-base percentage, six home runs, and three stolen bases. His wRC+ with the club is up to 119.
Looking forward to the season’s final weeks, the outfielder should continue to be a quality starting fantasy option in deeper leagues with 14 or more teams, particularly leagues where on-base percentage is part of the scoring.
