OWNED IN: 15% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Quite a leap of faith the one you'll need to take by rostering Green, folks. A.J. Green is coming off a horrid season--the worst of his career--in which all he could do was averaging 7 FPPG in PPR leagues with 111.3 total PPR points finishing as the 68th-best WR in fantasy leagues. Ugh. Green is now playing football in the desert, and so far the change of scenery seems to have worked for him with back-to-back games of at least 13.4 PPR points as a Cardinal.
Don't get Green and his role/upside in the Cards offense for what they're not, though. Green has posted back-to-back-to-back 6-target matches this season, and the only positive in the receiving department is that he's improved his efficiency on a weekly basis. The volume isn't changing, sure, but at least Green has gone from 2 to 3 to 5 receptions, and from 25 to 44 to 112 receiving yards this past weekend. No touchdown for Green this past Sunday, but he already snagged his first of the season in W2 against Minny.
Green has a raising PPR curve this year going from 4.5 FP to 13.4 and lastly 16.2 yesterday as he closed the day as the WR22. With an average 81% snap share so far, Green has been able to retain his WR2/WR3 role so far in the Cards offense. That, sadly, might change the minute he lowers his performing levels or the likes of rookie Rondale Moore (still on a too low dose of snaps) and Christian Kirk (seemingly a good player finally) just outperform him and force Green out of the rotation. Hopkins' being banged up probably helped Green this past weekend, too. Anyways, Green is a more-than-viable WR3/FLEX player to roster in deeper leagues with upside for more as long as he keeps seeing those 6 targets weekly.
