ANALYSIS: It's been a bit of a rollercoaster season so far for Tennessee Titans rookie wide receiver A.J. Brown. He started the year off with a bang, tallying exactly 100 receiving yards in his NFL debut. Since then, he's mostly been quiet apart from his Week 4 explosion, where he caught three passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns. It's certainly clear that Brown has big-play ability, as he already has two plays of over 50 yards six games into his career. But how consistent or reliable can he be?
The Titans have a lackluster passing attack that suffers greatly from quarterback Marcus Mariota's inconsistent play. Mariota was benched for No. 2 quarterback Ryan Tannehill this past week. So that doesn't inspire much confidence, but hopefully for Brown, the benching will wake Mariota up and inspire better play from him going forward.
Brown has been the Titans' leading receiver so far this year, with 273 yards on the season, just ahead of Corey Davis's 237 yards. There's certainly upside and room for growth for Brown, but he likely won't be a staple of consistency, at least this year. Add him if you need receiver help in leagues of 14 or more teams. He can be a good bye week fill-in WR3 or flex play.
