Shane Lowry Could Be A Popular Play This Week
3 years agoShane Lowry almost won The Honda Classic two weeks ago. The 34-year-old Irishman finished in second place. He gained 10.1 strokes from tee-to-green and 6.8 strokes on approach that week. Lowry is also coming off a top-10 finish at this event last year. Lowry, who has also played well at other Pete Dye courses, appears to be a good fit for TPC Sawgrass. Unfortunately, his form and history at this event will not go unnoticed. Lowry could be one of the most popular plays in DFS this week. It is recommended to monitor his projected ownership throughout the week.

Shane Lowry Has Potential To Contend At Bay Hill
1 month agoShane Lowry keeps getting lots of positive press heading into the Arnold Palmer Invitational this week. The Irish golfer likes long but tough golf courses. Bay Hill is almost 7,500 yards in length and has some nasty rough. In breezy conditions, the course can play several strokes above average. The 2019 Open Championship winner only has three PGA Tour wins in his career. However, Lowry figured out something last year at the course and finished third. At PGA National, the golfer almost snagged a Top 10 (T-11) and gained five strokes on approach (5.04) over the weekend. The concern is can he put at least three such rounds together. If he comes close, Lowry can contend and maybe surprise the signature field at Bay Hill.

Shane Lowry Hopes To Keep Good Course History Going At PGA National
1 month agoMaking his fourth start in 2025, Shane Lowry returns to the more fruitful side of the U.S. for his golf game over the years, and up first is a tournament he's nearly won three years in a row. Unfortunately, the 37-year-old has failed to get the job done on all three occasions, but, comes to this year's tournament as one of the more favored players to start the week. It will be interesting to see how he responds after competing in TGL on Tuesday night, but his game is trending to be in the thick of things come Thursday. Lowry currently ranks 3rd in proximity from 175-200 yards (26'6"), which made up 23.7% of approaches at the champion Course last year. He also ranks 8th from 200-225 yards (33'10"), making every par 3 on the course in the optimal range for the Irishman. Even at $11,800 on FanDuel, Lowry is as close to a must-play as it gets.

Shane Lowry Back In Action At Torrey Pines
2 months agoAfter a solo second at Pebble Beach, Shane Lowry is returning to Torrey Pines, where he missed the cut a month ago at the Farmers Insurance Open. The Irishman has made many attempts at various tournaments here over the years but has sadly struggled in most cases. His usual comfortability off the tee is diminished around Torrey, averaging minus-0.157 in strokes gained off the tee in seven career starts on this property. Compare that with his average of plus-0.234 last season in that metric, or his plus-0.408 average in 2023, and his discomfort off the tee at the south course becomes obvious. At, $10,300 on FanDuel, Lowry is probably better left alone.

Shane Lowry Tries To Rebound After Torrey Pines
2 months agoShane Lowry started off his 2025 PGA Tour season with a missed cut at the Farmers Insurance Open. The Irish golfer shot a 72 and 75 and wound up a couple of strokes from the cut line. Lowry has not won on the PGA Tour individually since 2019 and internationally since 2022 (BMW PGA Championship). However, he contends well. Lowry appeared on the tour 20 times in 2024, made 18 cuts and finished inside the Top 25 11 times. One of his weaknesses at times is putts per round late in tournaments. He averaged 29.59 putts per final round. That was almost a full putt over his Round 3 average. Lowry's putter is a bit inconsistent (99th in strokes gained in 2024). However, he tends to play better after a few rough rounds.
