3 years agoJust as we expected, Colby Covington walked out of the main event of UFC 272 on Saturday as the winner by using his wrestling and strike count. Through 25 minutes of main-event action, Covington racked up 218 total strikes (94 significant strikes) along with 15 takedown attempts (six landed). He also added 16:14 of control time to his winning resume. We'll have to see if Covington gets that third shot at Kamaru Usman, but if not, it's likely we get a rematch of this showdown given Covington's ability to sell a fight, especially if he's the favorite.--Matt Bricker
