Cam Akers Removed From Injury Report, Set To Play Sunday
3 years agoLos Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers (shoulder) is not on the injury report ahead of Super Bowl LVI and is set to suit up for the big game. Akers suffered a shoulder injury in the NFC Championship Game and he had been a limited practice participant earlier this past week, but he managed to log a full practice on Thursday. The second-year pro has been the team's leading rusher this postseason with 151 yards on 54 carries. He also has five receptions for 62 yards. However, Darrell Henderson Jr. (knee) is set to make his return in the Super Bowl, which could complicate things in the Rams' backfield. Rams head coach Sean McVay has indicated that the team will go with a "hot hand" approach between Akers, Henderson and Sony Michel. That makes any Rams running back a pretty risky DFS play against a Bengals defense that ranked fifth in the league in rushing yards this year, allowing just 102.5 per game.
