Rhamondre Stevenson To Focus On Pass-Catching
3 years agoNew England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson had a strong rookie year in 2021 by just about all measures. He was second on the team in rushing behind Damien Harris as he rushed 133 times for 606 yards and five scores while averaging 4.6 yards per carry. He also caught 14 of his 18 targets in the passing game for 123 yards. In an interview with ESPN.com, Stevenson called his rookie year, "stressful, but successful." He also added that his focus this offseason would be "route-running and catching out of the backfield." His backfield companion, Harris, has done little in the passing game over three years in New England, so if Stevenson can carve out a role for himself in the passing game, he'd have a great chance of seeing more opportunities next year. The battle between the two rushers will be one of the top backfield battles to watch this offseason.
