Russell Knox Searching For Form In Arizona
3 years agoRussell Knox has made two of three cuts to begin 2022, including a T33 finish last week at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The Scot currently ranks 26th on tour in strokes gained from tee-to-green, so it has been a cold putter that continues to let him down. The 36-year-old has struggled with consistency the last few years, slipping to No. 262 in the world rankings. As for course history, he has found some success at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, finishing in the top 20 three times in six tries. Knox is a risky DFS play but is capable of a good finish this week if he can just drop a few putts.

Russell Knox Trying To Turn 2023 Around
2 years agoRussell Knox has gotten off to rough starts the last two tournaments, which caused him to miss both cuts. Even the three events in which he made the cut, the Scottish golfer then proceeded to struggle during the final round (71, 71 and 73). Knox did almost win the tournament in 2014, losing in a playoff to Russell Henley. He ranks 123rd in putting by losing 0.117 strokes, but more troubling is that he ranks 191st off the tee. When one bleeds half a stroke in that metric alone, it makes it difficult to generate momentum. Knox must cut out mistakes, because he cannot get out of them (153rd in scrambling).

Russell Knox Looks To Stay Consistent At Pebble Beach
2 years agoRussell Knox is set to tee it up in this week's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Knox has found consistent success in the California event and has made the cut in four of his last five AT&T appearances with three top-15 finishes among those outings. The Scottish pro comes into the 2023 edition with solid ball-striking form. He's gained strokes on approach in his last four measured starts. Sharp iron play will be of the utmost importance this week and Knox profiles as an interesting salary saver in DFS contests.

Russell Knox Knocking His Irons Close
2 years agoRussell Knox has made the cut in six of his seven starts and now has three top-30s and six made cuts in his seven starts this season. He provides ball striking consistency which will be particularly important at a venue with this many penalty areas looming off the tee. His +5.4 strokes gained on approach was his best performance of the season and ranked 11th in last week's field. Knox may not make as many birdies as we would like, but if weather gets cold and scoring freezes up, having a Scotsman in your lineup seems like the way to go.

Russell Knox A Good Sleeper Option This Week
3 years agoRussell Knox is projected to have low fantasy ownership this week for The Mexico Open. Knox surprisingly missed the cut at The RBC Heritage in his last start. However, the 35-year-old Scot has played well this year. He finished in sixth place at The Players, where he gained 7.9 strokes from tee-to-green. That was Knox's fifth straight event gaining strokes from tee-to-green. While the course this week appears to be long, Knox could rely on his excellent approach play to carry him. Knox is a good option in DFS, especially with most fantasy enthusiasts sleeping on him.
