It looks like we will see this contest for a fourth time in the future after Brandon Moreno dropped his flyweight title in a very close decision (47-48, 47-48, 47-48) to Deiveson Figueiredo in the co-main event of UFC 270 on Saturday. Through five rounds of action, Moreno landed 105 significant strikes, actually out-landing Figueiredo, who landed 86 significant strikes. He also stuffed nine of Figueiredo's 11 takedown tries on the night. In an extremely close contest (47-48, 47-48, 47-48) many had the contest split as far as their victor. If/when we see a fourth battle between these two, it looks like it could come down to another decision.--Matt Bricker

On Saturday, former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno is scheduled to take on former flyweight challenger Steve Erceg in the main event of UFC Mexico City. Moreno recovered from a lacklustre loss to Brandon Royval in 2024 by handing Amir Albazi his first UFC defeat. Moreno's second title reign at flyweight ended in 2023 when he lost his belt via split decision to Alexandre Pantoja at UFC 290. DraftKings sees Moreno as the favorite with a salary of $8,600. Throughout his UFC career of 17 bouts, Moreno averages 78.5 fantasy points per contest.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBaller

Brandon Moreno picked up a clear-cut decision win over Amir Albazi in the main event of UFC Edmonton. Moreno ended his brief hiatus from MMA and looked good early on. He outstruck Albazi 18-to-16 in the first round but took over in the second round outstriking Albazi 29-to-6. Moreno outstruck Albazi in every single round as he cruised to a clear-cut decision win. With the win, Moreno improved to 22-8-2 as a pro and is 10-5-2 in the UFC. The Mexican is likely a win away from a title shot at flyweight.--Cole Shelton

Brandon Moreno (21-8-2) is set to headline UFC Edmonton against Amir Albazi. Moreno is coming off a split-decision loss to Brandon Royval in February and he planned to take time off after the loss. Now, he ends his layoff and faces the streaking Albazi. Moreno enters the bout as the favorite as DraftKings has him at a salary of $8,500. In the UFC, Moreno is 9-5-2 and is on a two-fight losing streak. If Moreno can get the win, he likely will a win away from a title shot.--Cole Shelton

Former UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno failed to deliver in front of his home country on Saturday night, losing via split decision to Brandon Royval. Moreno was off to a good start, winning the first two rounds. Once Royval found his rhythm, he took over, showcasing incredible output, volume striking, and a relentless pace to win the remaining rounds. In 25 minutes of action, Moreno landed three takedowns and 112 significant strikes. Having lost back-to-back fights for the first time, Moreno will remain in the mix but may need one or two wins to get back to championship potential. --Alen Kurbasic - RotoBaller
