ANALYSIS: Coby White missed a few games at the start of December but he's been back and active from Dec. 19 on. He went from starting to close the 2021 calendar year to flipping the calendar page from the pine, but it's now been four games in a row for him at either the starting PG/SG positions. With Lonzo Ball out for one month in the most optimistic of cases, and Alex Caruso entrenched on the second unit, White should stay on the court for many minutes and benefit from being part of a starting unit that is truly loaded and will undoubtedly take the defense's eyes off him.
White has played an average of 37 MPG in the past four games, all of them starting, topping at 40, and never falling below 32 minutes played. In that small span, with all games taking place in the past seven days through Friday, White has been good for an average 14-4-4-1. The Bulls dropped one to Milwaukee on Saturday and no Bull was sublime. Removing that game and getting all the way back to Dec. 27, it'd been 13 (!) games for White hitting double-digit points.
White averaged 17+ PPG (with 3+ 3PM per game), 2.5+ RPG, 3+ APG, and 1.0 SPG while shooting a sound 54.1% from the field on almost 12 FGA per game in that Dec.17-to-Jan.20 span of 13 matches. He's automatic from the free-throw line, though he is not adept at visiting it. Most of White's value comes from his scoring binges, shooting percentages from all three levels, and the low-but steady rebounding/diming.
