Andrew Putnam hasn't flashed much upside in the Fall Swing, but that could change at this week's Butterfield Bermuda Championship. Putnam has posted finishes of T44, T16, and T27 in his three Fall Swing starts, gaining over 1.5 strokes on approach in all three. His weakness off-the-tee will be mitigated at Port Royal, and over the last 36 rounds he ranks 5th on approach, fifth around-the-green, 22nd in par 3 scoring, and ninth in putting on Bermuda. Fantasy managers should roster Putnam with confidence at a course that notoriously places a premium on wedge play and putting.

Andrew Putnam comes into the Wyndham Championship ranked 73rd in the FedEx Cup Standings. 71st will qualify the American golfer into the playoffs. So, this regular season finale at Greensboro has a bit more meaning than usual. Putnam bounced back with a Top 20 (T-19th) at the 3M Open. This was after missing two straight cuts. If not for a Saturday 75, Putnam likely would have been inside the Top 10. That is encouraging heading into this week where a good result is needed. A lack of driving distance (281.5 yards) should not impact Putnam as much. He will need to be accurate (25th - 66.93%) and make putts early.

Andrew Putnam finished T44 at the Travelers Championship two weeks ago and is now focusing on preparing for this week's John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run. Putnam has had mixed results in the past at the John Deere Classic, finishing T41 in 2022 and missing the cut in 2021. One noteworthy point is that at last year's John Deere Classic, over 33% of approach shots came from 100-150 yards, and over the past 12 months Putnam ranks in the 96th percentile in greens in regulation percentage from 100-150 yards in the fairways. Putnam has struggled for consistency at times this year but could go overlooked this week and is worth considering for DFS lineups.

Andrew Putnam enjoyed a better April with two performances inside the top 20 (T14 and T18). Those came in stroke-play tournaments. The American golfer could be worth a look at the Wells Fargo Championship. With a longer course playing out to a par 71, Putnam may have a chance if he can be accurate with his shots. Do not discount him because of his driving distance (281.9 yards). His accuracy to the greens ranks 27th (69.37%) overall. If the weather knocks birdies down, Putnam averages 3.87 birdies per round, but his scoring average ranks 34th at 69.74. He is a golfer to watch in North Carolina.
