Patty Mills is worth considering as a fantasy basketball waiver wire pickup heading into Week 13 of the NBA season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 50% of leagues
ANALYSIS: The best fantasy GMs have always said that leagues aren't won by draft day, but rather through the in-season waiver-wire management. And they could very well be right, considering fools out there are still passing on Patty Mills and his half-Yahoo availability. Want a winning player on your roster? Score yourself some Patty shares.
There is one obvious issue about this addition, of course: Kyrie Irving is back with the time and "playing". That's right, but also wrong. What I'm saying is that Kyrie will only be available for BKN's road games, of which there are only two next week but four the week after that. It's going to be a headache, I know, but handling Patty ROS in your fantasy league could see you lift the chip when all is said and done.
I have always been a Patty Soldier, starting on not. Mills' production has been on the good side of things more often than not, and even if the touches/opportunities crater and the minutes go down a bit, that should only mean a greater focus from him on what he does best: scoring and dropping three-point shots on low volume but with neat accuracy. Irving's comeback and an ongoing slump have made it possible to find Patty so widely available, so I'd advise getting him in most slightly-deeper formats for when he brings back the goodies (and yes, we all know that's inevitably going to happen so you better be exploding that system glitch).
