Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Daniil Tarasov will start again Saturday afternoon versus the Carolina Hurricanes. Tarasov has played well in his first two NHL starts stopping 63 of 68 shots. The problem is goal support which Columbus has been rather challenged. Carolina features one of the highest-shot volume teams in the NHL. So, the Russian goaltender expects to face a lot of pucks again this afternoon. His fundamentals and footwork have been quite good. He has two quality starts and a third is very possible at home versus the Hurricanes.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller

Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Daniil Tarasov will get the nod for Saturday's tough road matchup against the Colorado Avalanche. He'll head to work for the first time this season following Elvis Merzlikins' exploits in Thursday's 3-2 loss to Minnesota. Playing on a struggling team, Tarasov has had very little joy in his NHL career, going 12-24-4 across 42 starts. He has registered a 3.39 goals-against average with a .905 save percentage. This promises to be another long night for Tarasov, although he beat the Avalanche with a 45-save effort last season and takes on a team that's missing multiple important offensive pieces.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Daniil Tarasov sustained an upper-body injury in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Islanders. He came out of the contest after stopping 13 of 15 shots across 17:53 of action. With Elvis Merzlikins (lower body) already unavailable, Jet Greaves finished the task, allowing one goal on 25 shots. Greaves could now see quite a bit of action over the final stretch of the season, with his colleagues battling health issues. The 23-year-old carries a 1-3-0 record and has posted a good .917 save percentage despite allowing 3.04 goals.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Daniil Tarasov will get the starting nod for Tuesday's road game versus the Ottawa Senators. The 24-year-old will take over for Elvis Merzlikins who has started the club's last two games and six of the last eight. Tarasov has endured an inconsistent season for the lowly Blue Jackets as he actually started five games in a six-game stretch to show what he can do. Unfortunately, he has worked to a 3.79 goals-against average and an .881 save percentage across 10 outings, going 3-5-2 in that time. His -7.33 goals saved above average, as per Hockey Reference, ranks 59th of 69 qualified netminders. He will take on a Senators team that is tied for eighth with 3.38 goals per game on the season.--Brenton Kemp

Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Daniil Tarasov (knee) is in danger of missing the start of the season. The Russian netminder hurt his knee in practice before training camp started, and it's unclear if he can recover in time for the team's season opener, which comes on Oct. 12 versus Philadelphia. The Blue Jackets added Spencer Martin to the roster off waivers last week to beef up their goalie department, and he looks set to begin the season as Elvis Merzlikins' backup if Tarasov can't make it back in time. Tarasov posted a decent 5-5-0 record in the NHL last season, but his save percentage was at a lowly .882, and the 24-year-old gave up nearly four goals a night (3.85).--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
