Brevin Jordan Scores Again In Week 14
3 years agoHouston Texans rookie tight end Brevin Jordan scored once again in a Week 14 loss to the Seahawks. Jordan saw seven targets, converting four of them for 26 yards and a touchdown. Jordan was the only member of the Houston offense to reach the end zone. This marks the third time the rookie tight end has scored in the last six weeks. The 49 passing attempts by rookie quarterback Davis Mills definitely helped Jordan's cause. That said, Houston outlined their desire to use their young players when they gave the team to Mills earlier this week. There should be no doubt that the 21-year-old Jordan should continue to be a beneficiary of more playing time down the stretch. Another positive sign is fellow tight end Pharaoh Brown did not see a target. Jordan seems to have taken over the TE1 role on this offense. That will have its limitations in this offense, but Jordan is now a low-end TE1 in most fantasy formats.

Brevin Jordan Suffers Torn ACL
6 months agoHouston Texans tight end Brevin Jordan (knee) suffered a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the 2024 season, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2. The 24-year-old will now set his sights on a long recovery process to prepare him for the 2025 season. The former fifth-round selection set a career-high in yards last season with 219. However, Jordan caught just one pass in each of the first two games of the season and was deployed as the No.2 tight end behind Dalton Schultz. Fantasy managers should now expect Schultz to see the lion's share of opportunities at the tight end spot in Houston, while Cade Stover should move up to the No.2 spot and see an increase in work.

Texans Place Brevin Jordan On Injured Reserve
6 months agoThe Houston Texans placed tight end Brevin Jordan (undisclosed) on Injured Reserve on Wednesday, meaning Jordan will now have to miss at least the team's next four games. Jordan will be eligible to return to play in Week 7 on the road at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers. It helps explain why the Texans signed former Minnesota Vikings tight end Irv Smith to their practice squad on Tuesday. In the first two games of the season, Jordan caught only two passes on three targets for seven yards while working behind starter Dalton Schultz. With Jordan now out for the foreseeable future, the Texans will roll with rookie Cade Stover, Chris Myarick and Smith as depth behind Schultz at the position. Schultz has also been a disappointment for fantasy managers as a TE1 option through the first two weeks in 2024, catching five of six targets for only 37 yards.

Brevin Jordan Receiving Praise From Coaching Staff
10 months agoHouston Texans tight end Brevin Jordan has been receiving praise from head coach DeMeco Ryans. Ryans told the media that Jordan is "playing fast and confidently and making some great catches." Jordan served as the backup tight end in Houston last season to Dalton Schultz and finished the campaign with 219 yards and two touchdowns on 17 catches. While this is a great sign for the 23-year-old in the long term, he still should be expected to retain a similar second-string role to Schultz in 2024. However, the former fifth-round pick has flashed at times with an eye-catching 7.6 average yards after the catch, which places him in the top-95th percentile among all tight ends, and he had an impressive 76-yard score in the wild-card game last season. Jordan could emerge as a fantasy-viable tight end if Schultz were to miss time, but for now, he has a difficult path to consistent playing time.

Brevin Jordan Finds End Zone Versus Titans
1 year agoHouston Texans tight end Brevin Jordan caught both of his targets for 19 yards and one touchdown during a win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 17. Despite operating behind Dalton Schultz, Jordan was able to contribute offensively with Houston's lone receiving touchdown. On that note, Jordan doesn't see much volume when Schultz is healthy and has never been a consistent touchdown scorer. As long as he remains in a depth role, Jordan can be left off the fantasy radar.
