ANALYSIS: The Seahawks backfield and running game has been struggling ever since Chris Carson went down this year. Alex Collins hasn't been able to show much with his opportunities to be the lead running back, and the Seahawks even went out and signed Adrian Peterson which didn't really help things either. DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer have had moments here and there, but nobody has stepped up from the group.
Coming into Week 14, AP and Homer will not be available. Pete Carroll has also stated that he expects Rashaad Penny to split carries with Alex Collins and have a bigger role. This should mean even more touches and targets for Penny, who has his best game of the year in Week 13 with 10 rushing attempts and one catch for 27 yards.
Penny was always expected to be a significant part of Seattle's plans, but injuries have held him back over the years. Is this the week where Penny can provide fantasy production for fantasy managers needing a boost in crunch time?
Many are dealing with roster crunches and bye weeks in a critical week, so feel free to pickup Penny off the waiver wire and plug him in as a low-end FLEX play. Even if you stash him to see how this plays out, you may end up with a starting running back down the fantasy home stretch. Stranger things have happened than to see Penny finally emerge.
