Is Logan Thomas Out For The Season? Washington Football Team TE Injury Updates

Logan Thomas - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Is Logan Thomas out for the season, or is Thomas playing this week? Is Ricky Seals-Jones worth picking up and starting? Read the Week 14 injury updates.

With the Week 14 games right around the corner, the injury news and updates will continue to roll in and be important factors in shaping the start or sit decisions of fantasy football managers.

Let's check in on the injuries for the Washington Football Team tight ends and their Week 14 Sunday afternoon game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Is Logan Thomas out for the season? Should I start a different Washington tight end in fantasy? Below, we take a quick look at the updated injury status for Thomas and attempt to answer these questions.

Is Logan Thomas Out For The Season?

Logan Thomas was injured in Week 13, and after initially being listed as questionable and week-to-week, it has now been confirmed that he is out for the remainder of the 2021 NFL season:

Normally, a stint on the IR would be that Thomas has to miss at least three games and he'd be eligible to return in January against the Eagles, but that's only for players who land on the IR once.

If you get placed on the IR a second time during a season, you're done. The former college quarterback will end his season with 18 catches for 196 yards and three touchdowns while appearing in just six games.

Is Ricky Seals-Jones Starting In Week 14 Against the Cowboys?

The next question is about the availability of Thomas' backup, Ricky Seals-Jones. RSJ has 23 catches for 230 yards and two touchdowns this season while playing in nine games, but he hasn't appeared in a game since Week 10 as he deals with a hip injury.

However, Seals-Jones has been practicing, according to ESPN's John Keim, which means he could return to the field this week.

If Seals-Jones is able to suit up, he would be a low-end TE1 option for fantasy managers.

But if RSJ can't go, expect to see rookie John Bates, who caught three passes for 42 yards against the Raiders in Week 13.

Should I Start Ricky Seals-Jones This Week?

If healthy, fantasy managers need to have Seals-Jones in their lineups.

The Dallas Cowboys allow the 10th-most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends and Seals-Jones has three games with at least four catches and 41 yards. He's also played 100 percent of the offensive snaps in three of his games. If he's active, Washington will have him on the field.

If Bates is the starting tight end, consider him a streaming TE2 option for fantasy managers who are desperate for tight end help.
