Edmonton Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse (undisclosed) will remain out on Saturday against the Carolina Hurricanes, missing a second consecutive game. Earlier in the week, Nurse was labeled day-to-day, indicating that he isn't dealing with anything serious. However, he isn't game-ready quite yet. Nurse's next chance to return will come on Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks. Once he is back in action, Nurse will look to end an eight-game point drought. He has notched 22 points (four goals, 18 assists) for the season, adding 110 hits and 94 blocks in 55 outings. Troy Stecher is filling in for Nurse in the lineup. He has made minimal impact and does not have any fantasy value. In 46 games this season, Stecher has totaled six points (three goals, three assists).

Edmonton Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse (undisclosed) will not suit up on Thursday night to face the Florida Panthers. Head coach Kris Knoblauch noted that the defenseman is viewed as "day-to-day." The 30-year-old was absent during Thursday's morning skate and hopes to return to the starting lineup on Saturday to face the Carolina Hurricanes. Over his previous eight contests, Nurse did not get on the scoresheet but added 28 hits and 18 blocked shots. Prior to this scoring slump, Nurse tallied five points (all helpers) over his last eight games while adding 14 hits and 11 blocks. With Nurse ruled out, fantasy managers should expect John Klingberg to rejoin the starting lineup. Evan Bouchard should continue to occupy the top pairing alongside Mattias Ekholm.

Edmonton Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse (upper body) will return to action on Saturday against the Rangers. He has sat out three games after getting hurt last Saturday in a clash with Toronto. With 18 games played, Nurse has recorded nine points (two goals, seven assists), 45 shots, 32 blocks, and 34 hits. He might have to play an even bigger part in the Oilers defense on Saturday, as Evan Bouchard (illness) is considered questionable for the game. Tony Brar of Oilers TV has reported that Bouchard is "50-50" to suit up.

Edmonton Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse (upper body) is set to miss 5-10 days of action. He was hurt at the weekend against Toronto and won't play in Monday's meeting with Montreal. Edmonton has a busy week with four games, but it looks like Nurse could be an option on Saturday versus the Rangers. After struggling in last year's playoffs, Nurse has been solid for the Oilers, recording nine points (two goals, seven assists) in 18 appearances with 45 shots, 32 blocks, and 34 hits. Josh Brown will enter the lineup in his stead on Monday, making his season debut. Brown has recorded 610 hits over 290 career games but is very limited offensively, with 34 points (11 goals and 23 assists) accumulated.
