Michael Chiesa Tastes Defeat In Saturday's Co-Main Event
3 years agoFor the first time in a handful of years, Michael Chiesa has now suffered back-to-back losses, this time a unanimous-decision defeat to Sean Brady in Saturday's co-main event (28-29, 28-29, 28-29). Statistically, the striking numbers went in Chiesa's favor when he landed 29 significant strikes (71 total strikes) but only landed one takedown compared to Brady's five. Chiesa also spent too much time in the control of Brady, with 7:45 of the fight's 15 minutes with Brady in the driver's seat. The last time Chiesa lost back-to-back fights, he went on a four-fight winning streak, which were the four fights before this current skid.

Michael Chiesa Loses Third Straight Bout At UFC 291
2 years agoMichael Chiesa walked out of the Octagon with his third straight loss after Saturday's matchup with Kevin Holland at UFC 291. In less than three minutes, Holland locked in a D'Arce choke on the submission ace. In 2:39 of action, Chiesa was only able to land four significant strikes and missed on all five of his takedown tries. The loss gives Chiesa his third straight and makes him winless since January of 2021. This very well may be the downfall of Chiesa from the top tier of the rankings.

Michael Chiesa Hoping To Get On Track At UFC 291
2 years agoMichael Chiesa (16-6) needs a big win to get on track, and UFC 291 on Saturday offers that opportunity. Chiesa will enter the Octagon with another dangerous veteran in Kevin Holland. Long regarded as a top-tier fighter in the UFC, Chiesa needs a win here to avoid a three-fight losing streak. DraftKings sees Chiesa as the underdog with a salary of $7,800. He averages 67.3 fantasy points per contest through 17 UFC bouts. Chiesa is always a quick submission away, with 10 of his 16 wins coming by submission. Holland has made a turnaround as of late, and this could be a very difficult chance to rebound for Chiesa.
