Philadelphia Eagles running back Boston Scott played a minor role, as expected, in a Week 11 win over the New Orleans Saints. Scott ran the ball six times, picking up 16 yards on the ground and also caught two passes but only gained two yards total through the air. With Miles Sanders (ankle) back after three games on short-term Injured Reserve, Scott was expected to take a back seat to Sanders and Jordan Howard. With rookie Kenneth Gainwell inactive, Scott at least worked a bit in the passing-down role, but he was the only Eagles running back to average under six yards per carry. He'll likely continue to have a role as a supporting piece in the backfield, but even with Jordan Howard (knee) forced to leave this game early, Scott won't see much of an uptick in value.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller

Free-agent running back Boston Scott (knee) is reportedly fully healthy and ready to return to the NFL after suffering a partially torn meniscus in his knee before the start of the regular season, according to sources. The former Philadelphia Eagles RB has been rehabbing the injury the last two months but it now prepared to join a team soon. The 29-year-old was with the Pittsburgh Steelers during training camp but was cut with an injury settlement after injuring his knee. The former sixth-round pick by the New Orleans Saints in 2018 out of Louisiana Tech should latch on somewhere as a change-of-pace option, but he won't necessarily be worth a waiver-wire pickup for RB-needy fantasy managers once he finds a new team. Scott's fantasy value for the rest of 2024 will depend on where he lands. Stay tuned. In 15 games with Philly last year, he had 20 carries for 86 yards and caught four passes for 52 yards.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

The Pittsburgh Steelers have released running back Boston Scott from their practice squad, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2. The veteran running back is now looking for his third team of the year after failed stints with the Steelers and Los Angeles Rams. His veteran presence and previous production in Philadelphia should help him earn a practice squad opportunity. His effectiveness has taken a step back in recent years, but he's still only a few seasons removed from providing the Eagles with 450-plus scrimmage yards and seven touchdowns. Regardless of where Scott's career takes him next, he's off the radar in all fantasy leagues.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller

The Pittsburgh Steelers are signing running back Boston Scott to their practice squad. Scott was released by the Los Angeles Rams earlier this week. He brings veteran experience to the Steelers after having spent his first six seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. Scott lost a lot of his touches to D'Andre Swift and Kenneth Gainwell in 2023. He only ran the ball 20 times for 86 yards and zero touchdowns in 15 games. The Steelers only have running backs Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren (hamstring), and Cordarrelle Patterson listed on their depth chart. With Warren not 100%, Scott may have a chance to be elevated to the active roster at some point. Either way, this move is likely to be inconsequential for fantasy football.--Quincy Milton III - RotoBaller

The Rams released running back Boston Scott on Sunday. The 29-year-old veteran spent his entire career in Philadelphia before trying to earn a spot on the Rams' roster. In 73 games with the Eagles, he totaled 1,295 yards and 16 touchdowns off 302 carries, adding 71 receptions for 566 yards and a score. With that said, Scott is well respected around the National Football League. While that could mean he'll find work soon, he's got a long way to go before earning a spot on fantasy rosters.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
