New York Giants running backs Saquon Barkley (ankle) and Devontae Booker (hip) were both limited in practice for the second straight day this week on Friday. Barkley has been impressing the Giants in practice coming out of the bye week and looks to be on track to return for the first time since Week 5 for a Monday night showdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 24-year-old would be returning to face a stiff Bucs rush defense while also potentially having his snaps limited while sharing touches with Booker, who has been a solid RB2 in the right matchups with Barkley sidelined. If Barkley is a true game-time decision this week, fantasy managers will need to have a backup plan with the game being on Monday night. And if Barkley is active, he'll be more of an RB2 than a sure-thing RB1.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

The New York Giants cut running back Devontae Booker on Wednesday, according to a source. The move creates $2.1 million in salary cap savings while leaving just $1 million in dead money for 2022. Booker rushed for 593 yards and two touchdowns on 145 carries last year, which tied Saquon Barkley for the team lead with Barkley nursing injuries yet again. Booker also added 40 catches for 268 yards and one touchdown on 45 targets in the passing game and was a bright spot when given opportunities in an otherwise pretty pathetic Giants offense. The 29-year-old will be hoping to latch on with another organization in free agency as a backup.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

New York Giants running back Devontae Booker rushed 18 times for 46 yards and caught two of three targets for no gain in Sunday's 29-3 loss to the Chicago Bears. He saw a pretty sizeable workload as the Giants attempted just 11 passes in Sunday's loss. The 29-year-old was out carried 21-18 to starter Saquon Barkley (21-102-0). Booker has recorded at least eight rushing attempts in four of his last five games, but it's hard for fantasy managers to trust anyone right now from the struggling Giants offense. Booker is a flex play at best in deep-league formats in Week 18--Brad Camara - RotoBaller

New York Giants running back Devontae Booker rushed eight times for 74 yards and caught both targets for eight yards in Sunday's 21-6 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The 29-year-old was more efficient than starter Saquon Barkley (3.3 yards per carry) and averaged an impressive 9.3 yards per carry. He's now logged 22 carries in his last three games. Booker has recently been more involved in the offense and has earned more touches with his impressive play. The veteran is mainly an option in deep-league formats against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller

New York Giants running back Devontae Booker (hip), who was listed as questionable for Week 11, is active on Monday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In four starts as the primary back for the Giants with Saquon Barkley out with an ankle sprain, Booker had 62 carries for 251 yards (4.05 yards per carry) and one touchdown while adding 14 receptions on 16 targets for 131 additional yards. He filled in nicely as an RB2/3 for fantasy managers with Barkley out, but now that Barkley is back in action for the first time since Week 5, fantasy managers can't realistically expect solid production from Booker, even if Barkley's snaps are limited in his first game back. The Buccaneers have also been the stingiest defense against the run on a per-game-basis in 2021.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
