Worlds is the best time of year for League of Legends as we get to see the top teams from all the regions battle it out to see who is the best. There are plenty of great teams in this tournament and I look forward to covering the DFS slates along the way.

- T1 (-375) vs. HLE
- RNG vs. EDG (-130)
T1 vs. HLE
T1 comes into the quarterfinals after going 5-1 in the group stage with their only loss being to EDG. HLE on the other hand had to travel through the play-in stage just to get to groups in which they went 4-3. These two teams did face off in the LCK regional finals where T1 won the series 3-2. They also both swept a series 2-0 during the summer split and T1 won both matchups during spring.
You can never count out a team with Chovy, but T1 is the better team in this series. Top, Jungle, and Support are big gaps in terms of talent and so far Faker has gotten the best of Chovy. T1 was the only team in the group stage to have an average game time under 30 minutes, however, HLE averaged just over 37 minutes per game so we can expect to see some long drawn-out games in this series.
T1 is not a great team when it comes to DFS scoring as they are only averaging 12.3 kills per game but what is very impressive is that as a team they average 4.8 deaths per game. Chovy and Deft are HLE's best chance at an upset 59.2% of the damage share and 58.2% of the kill share. 3 of HLE's 4 wins have come on Blue side whereas T1 is yet to lose on Red so it will be interesting to see what sides the teams will select after game 1. I would look to make T1 your mini stack on this 2 game slate
Top plays from T1: Canna, Gumayusi, Faker, Team
Top plays from HLE: Chovy, Deft

RNG vs. EDG
Two of the favorites to win Worlds, unfortunately, get matched up against each other in the quarterfinals. This should be a very even series and the one we want to target more in DFS as we should see a higher kill per game total. The majority of the picks I've seen have EDG winning the series. I am going to take RNG and hope for lower ownership as I can see RNG winning, they are MSI champions after all. Not to mention from a DFS perspective RNG led the group stage with 131 kills in just 7 games so we know they are going to put up points.
RNG did 2-0 sweep them during the summer split and win both of their series in the spring. Both teams' average game time was over 30 minutes with RNG having the longer games at 37 minutes per game. EDG likes to play through the bot side, whereas RNG plays through top so it will be interesting to see which side can generate the advantage. Xiahou in the top lane has the most favorable matchup of the series in my opinion but Scout up against Cryin is quite the gap as well. Cryin is a completely different player when playing roaming champions like his signature Twisted Fate and looks much worse when forced to play more lane-focused champions.
Cryin played TF in 5 of the 7 games with an 80% win rate. Look for EDG to ban TF and force Cryin on one of his weaker champions. Xiahou has such a wide champion pool in the top lane that it is nearly impossible for him to not find a winning lane matchup as we saw with him breaking out the Syndra top. I will be using RNG as my main stack on this slate and regardless of which side you are on this is the game you want your main stack to be from.
Top plays from RNG: Xiahou, Gala, Wei, Ming
Top plays from EDG: Scout, Viper, Meiko
Final Thoughts
I don't like to make predictions but I am going to go ahead and do it anyway. I am going with both T1 and RNG to win 3-1. My top choices at Captain are Gala, Xiahou, Wei. Scout or Viper is who I would go with on the EDG side. Good luck to everyone and enjoy these great quarterfinal matchups.
