Darnell Mooney (WR, CHI) - Fantasy Football Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: There is very simple reasoning you might be using to think I'm crazy recommending Darnell Mooney here: if most fantasy GMs are starting to fade and drop the very own Allen Robinson II, how come Mooney should be rostered at all? Well, A-Rob got into the year with a top-tier ADP, and Mooney can still (we're past Week 6, just in case you hadn't noticed) be found available for free in more than half of Yahoo leagues! And things are looking better by the week! Can't go wrong with this pickup!

Mooney, believe it or not, is outscoring Robinson as Chicago's best fantasy player and (currently) WR1 of the Bears. You read that right, folks. With virtually the same amount of snaps (slight edge Mooney) through six games, Darnell Mooney is already 12.2 PPR points above Allen Robinson in the fantasy leaderboard. Unbelievable, yes, but also very true. Mooney leads the team in receiving yards, is tied for the most touchdowns with one (ugh), and has gotten a team-leading 39 targets already of which 25 ended in receptions (A-Rob is 21-of-36 for 234 yards and 1 TD).

This past weekend QB Justin Fields played his best game of the season to date, and although he wasn't incredible on the passing side of things he still unlocked Mooney to reach a sound 8-5-45-1 line translating to 15.5 PPR points and a WR18 finish. Mooney had another top-15 finish in Week 4 and has four WR3/Flex-worth games this year compared to Robinson's one. Not advising you to lose your head and forcing Mooney into your lineup in the shallower of leagues, but definitely telling you to rush to the wire and adding the wideout to start him in good matchups as he has shown enough to consider him a perennial Flex starter in most deeper leagues.
