Braves Going With Charlie Morton In Game 4
3 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Charlie Morton will start Game 4 of the NLDS against the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday. The veteran right-hander will be pitching on short rest. He started Game 1 of the series this past Friday. He pitched well in the contest, despite earning a loss. He went six innings and allowed three hits, one walk and two earned runs while recording nine strikeouts. The Braves didn't have many other enticing options for Game 4. Drew Smyly and Huascar Ynoa would have been risky to throw out there. Even on short rest, Morton seems like the most logical choice. Expect to see Max Fried go on short rest for Game 5 if the game is necessary. If not, Fried will be the starter for Game 1 of the NLCS.
