David Montgomery Lands On Injured Reserve
3 years agoChicago Bears running back David Montgomery (knee) has been officially placed on injured reserve as of Saturday due to a knee sprain that is expected to keep him out of action for the next 3-5 weeks. Ryan Nall was brought up from the practice squad in a flurry of moves, but he figures to serve as the team's No. 3 option out of the backfield. Damien Williams stands to get run as the Bears' primary running back, giving him RB2 upside in the vast majority of season-long formats. Montgomery was off to a terrific start in 2021 with two games over the 100-yard mark on the ground to go along with three rushing touchdowns. He can be kept on IR until his return, although those managers without injuries slots face a more nuanced conundrum.
