3 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers cut running backs Kerryon Johnson and Chris Thompson and linebacker Curtis Bolton on Tuesday to make room on the practice squad for tight end Jordan Matthews and two other potential additions. Johnson was waived by the Detroit Lions in the offseason and joined the 49ers last month, but he never saw a single touch in the lone game he was active in Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers. It's not a good sign that Johnson didn't factor into a 49ers backfield that was missing Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson Jr., JaMycal Hasty and Elijah Mitchell. The 24-year-old might latch onto another practice squad, but he's obviously well off the fantasy radar in 2021.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
