Miami Marlins outfielder Jesus Sanchez (hamstring) exited Thursday's game against the New York Mets with right hamstring tightness. He went 1-for-2 before being removed in the bottom of the third inning during Thursday's game. The severity of Sanchez's injury is unknown at this time, and he's considered day-to-day. Bryan De La Cruz replaced him in the lineup and would see an uptick in at-bats while Sanchez is sidelined. His next chance to return will be Friday against the Philadelphia Phillies. The 23-year-old rookie is slashing .249/.317/.489 with 14 home runs, 36 RBI, 27 runs scored, and 20 walks over 249 plate appearances in 2021. Stay tuned for further updates.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller

Miami Marlins outfielder Jesus Sanchez (back) remains sidelined on Sunday when the Marlins conclude a series against the Athletics. Sanchez was scratched from Saturday's lineup due to back tightness and will remain sidelined on Sunday. The 27-year-old has only appeared in 14 games this season and has posted a modest .200/.310/.300 slash line with two doubles and one home run. Under the hood, Sanchez has generated a solid .360 xwOBA and an 11.4 percent barrel rate, which suggests he should see some positive regression when he returns to the starting nine. However, this afternoon, the Marlins will give Dane Myers the start in center field, and Ronny Simon and Kyle Stowers will cover the corners.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Miami Marlins outfielder Jesus Sanchez is not in the team's starting lineup for Friday's series opener against the visiting Athletics. Kyle Stowers is starting in right field and is batting second, while Eric Wagaman is patrolling left field and batting cleanup versus A's rookie Gunnar Hoglund, who will be making his MLB debut. This will be Sanchez's second straight day of rest after the Marlins had an off day on Thursday. The 27-year-old Dominican hasn't found his footing at the plate yet after starting the year on the injured list. Sanchez is currently slashing .200/.310/.300 with only one home run, four RBI, three runs scored and a steal in 50 at-bats. He should be back in there on Saturday as the series continues in South Beach. Stowers and Wagaman could both be worth a look as DFS sleepers. Stowers, in particular, is intriguing after starting the year with a .323 average (31-for-96) with four homers and 19 RBI.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

The Miami Marlins announced on Tuesday that they activated outfielder Jesus Sanchez (oblique) from the 10-day injured list, and he's starting in center field and batting in the two-hole against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks and right-hander Merrill Kelly at loanDepot Park. Sanchez will be making his season debut on Tuesday after straining his left oblique in spring training. Now that he's healthy, the 27-year-old will be a regular starter in Miami's outfield and deserves attention in mixed fantasy leagues if he's still on the waiver wire. Although he has never reached the 20-homer mark in his career, Sanchez makes loud contact and has an intriguing power/speed profile. He'll be an interesting DFS play right away in the No. 2 spot in the batting order as well, and he has a home run and three RBI in only four career at-bats against Kelly.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Miami Marlins outfielder Jesus Sanchez (oblique) and right-hander Declan Cronin (hip) will start their minor-league rehab assignments with Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday night, according to the team. Sanchez is finally ready to return to game action after suffering a strained left oblique in mid-March during spring training. If the 27-year-old doesn't suffer any setbacks with the Jumbo Shrimp, he could be activated from the injured list to make his 2025 debut at some point next week. When healthy, Sanchez should be Miami's starting right fielder and can be useful in mixed fantasy leagues due to his power/speed combination. When he makes contact, he hits the ball as hard as anyone in the league. However, Sanchez will need to hit the ball in the air more and strikeout out less in order to achieve his first 20-homer season in 2025.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
