Christian McCaffrey Won't Be Placed On Injured Reserve
3 years agoCarolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) is not heading to the injured reserve. McCaffrey's hamstring strain, which he suffered during Thursday's win over the Texans, is expected to sideline him for a few weeks, though it's encouraging that the team opted not to place him on injured reserve. The star halfback has a real chance to return within three weeks, as a stint on the injured reserve would require a minimum absence of three weeks. In the meantime, head coach Matt Rhule said that Chuba Hubbard and Royce Freeman would handle the running back duties moving forward. Hubbard was utilized similarly to how the club used Mike Davis last season, making him a priority waiver add wherever he's available.
