Giancarlo Stanton Homers, Drives In Four Friday
3 years agoNew York Yankees designated hitter/outfielder Giancarlo Stanton went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer, an RBI groundout, and a double in Friday's 8-3 win over the Red Sox. Stanton's 108.4 MPH opposite-field blast gave the Yankees a 6-0 lead in the third inning. The slugger is slashing .275/.298/.563 with seven homers, 16 RBI, and seven runs scored. Stanton's plate discipline, 22:3 strikeout-to-walk ratio, has been awful, but he is powering the Yankees and fantasy managers to a strong finish. Stanton will get a favorable matchup on Saturday against Red Sox pitcher Nick Pivetta. Pivetta has surrendered a homer in three of his last four starts.
