3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers rookie running back Elijah Mitchell (shoulder) has been listed as doubtful to play on Sunday night in Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers. Mitchell returned to a limited practice on Friday after missing the previous two days of practice, but the Niners don't sound optimistic that he'll be ready this weekend. Even though the sixth-rounder hasn't been officially ruled out yet, fantasy managers should be avoiding him at all costs. Fellow rookie Trey Sermon has cleared the concussion protocol and is in line to get the start with Mitchell doubtful to play, Raheem Mostert out for the year and JaMycal Hasty out at least several weeks. Sermon was inactive in the season opener and suffered a concussion on his only carry last week, so he's not the most thrilling fantasy starter early in his rookie season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
