Tyrell Williams Lands On Injured Reserve
3 years agoThe Detroit Lions placed wide receiver Tyrell Williams (concussion) on Injured Reserve on Thursday and placed kicker Austin Seibert on the COVID-19 list. They also officially signed inside linebacker Josh Woods from the Chicago Bears practice squad. Williams suffered a head injury in the season-opener and did not play in the Week 2 loss to the Green Bay Packers. The 29-year-old will now miss at least the next three weeks as he looks to gain clearance from the NFL's concussion protocol in the meantime. Quintez Cephus, Kalif Raymond and rookie Amon-Ra St. Brown figure to start in three-wide sets in his absence, but tight end T.J. Hockenson and the Lions running backs figure to continue leading the team in targets. Cephus, who led the receivers with 89.5 percent of the offensive snaps and seven targets in Week 2, is the best deep-league flier.
