Joe Ryan Strikes Out Career-High 11 Batters In Win
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Joe Ryan put together one of the most impressive performances of his young career in Wednesday's win over the Cubs. Ryan pitched five innings, allowing just two runs on three hits with one walk issued. The right-hander struck out a career-high 11 batters, generating 13 whiffs, with 10 of them coming on his fastball. He showcased his swing-and-miss stuff right from the start, as he struck out the side on 13 pitches in the first inning. Ryan has looked excellent through his first four career starts, pitching to a 2.45 ERA with a 32.1 percent strikeout rate and a minuscule 3.8 percent walk rate. The 25-year-old is a must-have player in both redraft and dynasty formats, with the arrow pointing squarely upward for his fantasy value in 2022.
