Paolo Espino Delivers Another Fine Outing
Paolo Espino was once again very good Sunday against the Colorado Rockies, as he turned in 5 2/3 innings without allowing a run. He gave up three hits and three walks while striking out seven, and was pulled one out shy of what would have been his second consecutive quality start. Espino earned a victory in the contest, improving his record to 5-5. He has a 3.94 ERA and 1.20 WHIP on the season with 90 strikeouts in 102 2/3 innings. He makes for a solid streamer in good matchups, though time is running out this season.

Paolo Espino Roughed Up By Phillies
Paolo Espino was roughed up by the Philadelphia Phillies in the team's 11-0 blowout loss on Tuesday. Espino was touched up for four earned runs on six hits (two home runs allowed) while walking one and striking out three in just 3 2/3 innings of work. The 35-year-old veteran hurler took his second loss of the season and raised his ERA to 3.33 in the process in his fifth start of the season. He's allowed six home runs in his five starts since joining the starting rotation in mid-June, and he has a rough 4.91 ERA and 1.41 WHIP while walking seven and striking out 17 in 22 innings over his five starts. Espino has been much better in relief and should be avoided for now as a fantasy streamer.
