Los Angeles Chargers tight end Jared Cook caught three of his five targets for 28 yards in a Week 2 loss versus the Dallas Cowboys. The veteran would have had a better outing, but his two-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter was called back with a penalty on the Chargers. The veteran is part of a high-powered passing attack, but is behind running back Austin Ekeler and wide receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams for targets. Next up for Cook will be a date against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3 and he remains a shaky option moving forward with plenty of mouths to feed in the Chargers offense.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller

The Los Angeles Chargers placed tight end Jared Cook (illness) on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Friday after testing positive for the virus. He reportedly has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos. With backup Donald Parham (concussion) on injured reserve, Stephen Anderson and Tre' McKitty will handle tight end duties against Denver while Cook is sidelined. The Broncos have been stingy against the position and rank fifth in DVOA against opposing tight ends. Fantasy managers should look for a different streaming option on the waiver wire for their championship games.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller

The Los Angeles Chargers placed tight end Jared Cook on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Friday and he will be out for Week 17 against the division-rival Denver Broncos. Donald Parham Jr. (concussion) hasn't played since suffering a serious head injury in Week 15, so with both Cook and Parham likely out this weekend, the Chargers will be down to Stephen Anderson and Tre' McKitty at the position. Anderson and McKitty have combined for 18 catches for 180 yards and one touchdown on 22 targets. Anderson is the better bet for production, but fantasy managers shouldn't be trusting either of these backup tight ends in starting lineups. Plus, the Broncos defense has been a bad matchup for opposing TEs all year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Chargers tight end Jared Cook will draw one of the toughest matchups at his position in Week 17 versus the Denver Broncos. The Broncos have done a great job limiting tight ends to just four receptions for 40 yards per game and have only allowed one touchdown on the year to the position. The good news for managers is that the one touchdown was to Cook, but he was limited to just two receptions for 25 yards when the two clubs met in Week 12. In a tough matchup with many managers playing in their championship week, Cook is no more than a shaky TE2 play.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Chargers tight end Jared Cook hasn't helped managers much this season, but will draw a favorable matchup versus the Houston Texans in Week 16. The Texans have really struggled against the tight end position this season and are allowing five receptions and just over 55 yards per game to the position. For the season, Cook has 41 receptions for 440 yards with four touchdowns and much of his success has been touchdown dependent. Managers should consider Cook a TE2 in a favorable matchup this Sunday.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
