Austin Dillon just missed out on the playoff chase and now starts 18th at Bristol on Saturday night. Despite not leading a single lap, Dillon has fared well on the 0.533-mile course with seven top-15 results in his previous nine races. It is odd how consistent he has been at Bristol without leading one lap. The Richard Childress Racing driver has a consistent enough car that does not quite have the downforce at Bristol to stay near the front long. That has been the problem with Dillon's car. If he can time it right, Dillon could still finish well on Saturday night.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller

Austin Dillon qualified 19th at Texas on Saturday, outqualifying his teammate Kyle Busch. He did win here on a strategy play in 2020 in a race where his average running position was almost 14th, but that was with crew chief Justin Alexander, and he's always been worse without him than with him. Despite the win, his Texas record is rather mediocre, as he has never finished better than eighth otherwise and while Richard Childress Racing had a little speed on intermediates (more than at most other tracks), Busch was vastly faster than Dillon on intermediates in general last year, even when Dillon still had Alexander and Busch qualified even worse. He would be a much better choice for DFS options, but even he might not be that great of a choice.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller

Austin Dillon of Richard Childress Racing starts in the fifth position for the Jack Link's 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. It will mark the fifth time in his Cup Series career that Dillon will start inside the top five at the site, with his last top-5 start coming from last year's April race. In 23 starts at Talladega, Dillon has six top-10 finishes, including his last appearance at the Alabama track in October 2024, where he went on to place eighth. In the first nine races this year, Dillon has five top-20 finishes with only one top-10 finish. Despite his team's reputation for bringing faster cars than most at drafting-based tracks, Dillon is not viable for DFS outside of tournament games. This is particularly due to his high starting position, which makes him one of the riskiest DFS options of the week and not a general recommendation.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller

Richard Childress Racing's Austin Dillon placed 10th at the end of the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Beginning the race from the 17th position, Dillon did not do much during the first stage. He spent the whole stage fighting to maintain a top-20 running position; by the end of it, he was 19th. In the second stage, Dillon did take a contrarian pit strategy by pitting for tires on lap 182, getting him off-sequence with the leaders. However, this would not do much in the context of his overall running position as, by the end of stage two, he placed 18th and failed to score stage points throughout the day. In the final stage, Dillon executed on his pit stops and finally made up ground. The No. 3 Chevrolet driver kept his car clean and then finished in the 10th position by the end of the race. This was Dillon's first top-10 finish at Bristol since 2020 and his first top-10 finish of the 2025 season.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller

Austin Dillon of Richard Childress Racing will start 17th for the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. This will be the best starting position of Dillon's Cup career at the Tennessee short track since 2022. In 19 starts at Bristol, Dillon has 12 top-20 finishes and an average finish of 18.2. The No. 3 Chevrolet driver also scored positive place differential in four of his last five appearances at Bristol. With eight races completed so far this season, Dillon has four top-20 finishes and nabbed positive or neutral PD four times. In practice, Dillon ranked ninth in overall lap averages while displaying top-20 speeds in all other categories. Although he does not offer as much upside as others in the value tier, Dillon is still one of the better overall options to consider as he will compete for a top-15 finish based on equipment and practice speeds.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
