Anthony Firkser. Firkser joins a Jets tight end room led by
Tyler Conklin. Firkser only appeared in two games for the Lions in 2023 and did not record a statistic. This appears to be a depth add for the Jets as they prepare for the season's long haul with eyes set on the Super Bowl. Time will tell if Firkser manages to make the final roster. This move is of little consequence for fantasy football.

James Mitchell (hand) landing on the injured reserve. The move to add Firkser to the roster could mean that the Lions are preparing to be without
Sam LaPorta (knee) for this game. The expectation is that Firkser will serve as the backup to
Brock Wright ahead of Sunday's playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams.

2 years agoThe New England Patriots have reached a deal with free-agent tight end
Anthony Firkser. The details of the deal are unknown, but it's assumed to be a one-year deal on league minimum. Most recently, Firkser played with the Atlanta Falcons in 2022-2023. He finished with nine receptions for 100 yards in 11 games with the team. To be fair, Firkser was mainly used as a blocking specialist in Atlanta. He managed 73 receptions, 678 yards, and three touchdowns between 2020 and 2021 as a rotational player with the Tennessee Titans. He's not expected to have a huge role in New England. He has a decent shot at making the roster, but probably won't do enough to warrant rostering in fantasy formats.

Anthony Firkser to the 53-man roster after he was elevated from the practice squad last week. The 27-year-old caught one pass for six yards in the season opener, as he was one of three different tight ends to get a target in Week 1.
Kyle Pitts will lead the way at the position, while
Parker Hesse also remains in the mix for the Atlanta offense. Firkser could be as low as the No. 3 option on the depth chart, so he offers no fantasy appeal unless someone ahead of him misses some time.
