Marcus Mariota Aggravates Quad Injury In Week 1
3 years agoLas Vegas Raiders quarterback Marcus Mariota (quad) aggravated a strained quadriceps during his 31-yard run in the first quarter of Monday's 33-27 overtime win over the Baltimore Ravens. According to head coach Jon Gruden, he planned to use Mariota, who first injured his quad during the preseason, a lot more against Baltimore. "We lost a big piece of our offense," Gruden said. The 27-year-old missed the entire preseason due to a quad issue. Mariota is considered day-to-day and will most likely require a trip to the short-term injured reserve. Nathan Peterman will serve as Derek Carr's backup while Mariota is sidelined.
