Jose Berrios Takes Tough-Luck Loss Tuesday
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Jose Berrios allowed one run over seven innings of work on Tuesday, but was unfortunately saddled with the loss as his club fell to the Rays 2-0. The right-hander struck out four on the night without issuing a free pass while surrendering just four hits with the only damage coming off a Ji-Man Choi solo home run in the second. After rattling off three-straight wins, Berrios' record now drops to 11-8 on the year with a sharp 3.43 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and 181 K through 173 1/3 IP this season. The 27-year-old will get a rematch with the Rays in his next scheduled start next week where he should continue to be fired up in all lineups.
